Alanis Morissette is altering the lyrics to “Ironic” on a special acoustic version of the track. The line, “It’s like meeting the man of my dreams, and then meeting his beautiful wife,” will be replaced with “meeting his beautiful husband.”

“I have so many friends who are homosexual and I just adore these people. Period. Anytime I can support the gay community in whatever way I can, I want to really show up big,” commented Alanis.

I’ll be attending Alanis’s concert in Oakland this July. Who knows, maybe I’ll get to hear the lyrically altered version of the song.
